AAMP Oral Presentation Award Guidelines
The American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics (AAMP), in collaboration with Dynamic Abutment Solutions, our industry partner, offers two awards to the first and second winning primary authors of an oral presentation delivered at the Academy’s conference in New Orleans on Oct 18 – 21, 2025.
Prize details
- First prize – $2000 and a certificate
- Second prize – $1000 and a certificate
- The four finalist candidates will receive reduction in their conference attendance fee of $125 each.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be AAMP members at the time of application for the award presentation.
- Applications are encouraged from all members in training positions (residents and fellows) or recent graduates (within five years).
Submission Process
- Submit the structured presentation in PowerPoint or PDF to aamporalprize2025@gmail.com – no later than midnight of August 1, 2025.
- A panel of judges will conduct the shortlisting process.
- Candidates must complete their conference registration within two weeks of submission acceptance. Finalists will be provided with a reduction in their conference registration fee of $125
- Unsuccessful candidates will be offered the opportunity to convert their oral presentation to a poster presentation as decided by the panel of judges.
Presentation Requirements and Guidance
Topic and Submission Details
- Presentations should focus on a topic relevant to maxillofacial prosthodontics.
- Finalists must submit a PowerPoint or PDF version of their presentation.
Authorship and Contributions
- The presenting candidate must have been directly involved in the work presented. Contributions from other clinicians should be acknowledged, specifying their roles.
- Only the candidate who submits the abstract is permitted to present the material.
Presentation Format
- Each presentation will be 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions from the judging panel and audience.
Evaluation Criteria
Judges will assess the following aspects:
- Complexity and Innovation: The degree of originality and sophistication in the work.
- Approach & Methodology: The robustness and rigour of the methods.
- Knowledge and Understanding: Depth of insight into the topic presented.
- Clarity and Structure: Organization and coherence of the presentation.
- Discussion and Reflection: The candidate’s ability to engage with questions and critically reflect on the material.
This award underscores the Academy’s commitment to fostering excellence in maxillofacial prosthetics and encouraging scholarly contributions from its members.
