70th Annual AAMP Program Chair’s Message
Dear Colleagues,
It was great to see so many of you in person once again at our 69th Annual Session in Austin, Texas. This year the AAMP is returning to San Diego, California for the “Platinum Anniversary” of the AAMP, and I am very pleased to say we are also returning to the 3-day format that many of us have enjoyed over the years. Last year’s meeting in Austin was a 2-day format. Returning to the 3-day format will allow us to have even more time to spend with each other and make those valued connections that are equally as important as the clinical and scientific information shared. I always find the presentations at the AAMP to be thought provoking and intellectually stimulating, and having a bit of extra time to “take it all in” is something we all benefit from.
The theme for this year’s meeting is “The Art, Science, and Evolution of Maxillofacial Prosthetics”. We will be hosting many great presenters again this year at the general session podium as well as at our workshops, our industry sessions, and of course our interactive poster session during the welcome reception. Topics to be discussed will include the history and evolution of maxillofacial prosthetics, advanced digital applications, the use of virtual reality in surgical planning, and much more!
The meeting will be held at the Omni Hotel in San Diego’s Gaslamp district. This is an excellent location with over 200 restaurants and bars nearby. It is within walking distance to the San Diego Trolley if you want to explore a little further out, and San Diego has something for the entire family. I hope you all will attend AAMP 2023 and bring someone with you for what is sure to be another great event!
If I could give one bit of advice to those attending this meeting it would be to never miss an AAMP social event. You will meet new friends and colleagues and of course reconnect with those you already know at these social outings. I have made great friends and professional connections at these outings over the years and look forward to each one and the memories they create. So don’t make the big mistake of skipping the social outings and missing out on such a great opportunity.
I would like to personally thank the program committee, the speakers who have generously accepted our invitation to speak, moderators for each session, participants, and our sponsors who have generously donated and participated once again to this year’s annual session. Without all of you, this year’s meeting would not be possible.
Looking forward to seeing all of you in San Diego!
Sincerely,
William Wilson, Jr., DDS, MS
